Where do warts appear?

 They are mainly found in the genitals and the surrounding areas. They often appear in the perianal area, while less oftenon the face – mouth or other areas of the body.

How are warts transmitted?

 

Warts are a sexually transmitted disease, thereforetransmitted mainly through sexual contact (vaginal or anal).The transmission of warts is done either by direct contact with the affected area, either by direct contact. In other words, the virus does not only enter the body through penetration.Many times,scrubbing the infected skin is enough.Another way that warts are transmitted isoral sex. Infection after oral sex does not often encountered. But if it happens, it causes the appearance of wartsin the mouth and tongue. We do not know the minimum amount of virus thatis required to transmit HPV and cause infection.It is worth to note that the condom does not fully contribute to the protection against the transmission of warts.

 

 

How are wartstreated?

 

Treatment of warts requires individualized medical care, knowledge and experience to avoid further complications for the patient.Their treatment is successful with the use of Laser, as well as older methods such as electrocautery – cryopreservation or topical preparations. Early and correct treatment of the disease is important because of the association of the virus with cervical cancer in womenor rarer forms of cancer in a man’s penis, woman’s vagina and anus in men and women.

Skin that is very exposed to sun has an increased chance of developing skin cancer and especially melanoma, the most aggressive skin cancer. Any nevus that changes in color, shape or size is suspected to be malignant and should be removed immediately. In addition, any mole that has vague boundaries and is quite large in size is suspicious.

It is very rare to find a person who does not have even a benign tumor on his skin.

When do we remove a nevus?

 

Only a dermatologist can decide when and if a nevus should be removed. But what makes us suspectful is the change in a mole in terms of color, shape or size. Also, moles located in frequently injured areas should be removed.

But even if a nevus does not need to be removed but we want it removed for aesthetic reasons, it must be, also, seen by a dermatologist.

The proper period to remove moles is right before the summer. The reasons are the following:

1. after removing the mole, it is best not to expose it to too much sunlight,

2. if the moles are removed during the summer we will not be able to swim in the sea for a period of a few weeks and

3. an already suspected malignant mole should not be exposed to extra radiation during the summer.

What are trunk skin papillae?

 

They are small lumps that may be at the color of the skin or may have another color, usually darker and protrude from the skin either with a wide base or through a small stem.

It is typical that the papillae appear mainly in places where there is prolonged friction, such as in the neck (due to the friction with the neckline of the clothes), in the armpit, under the chest or in the line of the bra on the back.

They grow quickly during pregnancy and they tend to multiply even faster when they increase in number and size, but they also infect people with whom we come in frequent contact.

What causes papillomas?

 

Papillomas are caused by a group of viruses called HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). This is a completely harmless group of viruses.

 

Treatment
