Xanthelasma

What is xanthelasma ?

Xanthelasma (also known as xanthelasma palpebra) is a skin damage that consists of fat droplets and admixture of other cells that give it the typical blonde light yellow color. They are mainly located under the skin on the upper and lower eyelids.

Xanthelasmas are usually due to primary or secondary hyperlipidemia, while, in others, they appear for unknown reasons.

Xanthelasmas are removed using laser therapy, diathermy, and surgery, painless, bloodless, in a short time and with excellent aesthetic results.
